Missing missing missing

Missing the strangest things lately.

Drinking 3 overpriced gas station Gatorades daily just to barely keep dehydration at bay.
Wearing awkwardly oversized men's polos, chastity shorts, Chacos and yet somehow convincing people to take me seriously.
Living within a stone's throw of the winding and majestic Potomac River.
Snacking off a supply of fruit roll ups, granola bars and pop-tarts in the trunk of a black Mitsubishi Lancer that could have fed a small country for months.
Learning to drive stick on a steep hill in bumper to bumper traffic.
W  a  l   k    i     n     g    for long enough each day that the tan lines on my feet resembled henna tattoos.
Sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag for weeks on end.
Needing to relieve myself so badly that strangers had to be begged for the use of their restrooms.
Terrifyingly beautiful thunderstorms and rain that soaked every layer of clothing within ten seconds.
Sneaking a certain underage hot mess into clubs.
Dipping graham crackers in milk until 4 am on an increasingly lumpy and uncomfortable couch.
Loathing Saturday mornings and loving Saturday nights.
Being brought to tears by the National Anthem in the Nation's capital city on July 4th.
Watching fireflies light up the river bottom at the approach of dusk.

It's strange what a wandering summer mind remembers.
