I'm constantly fascinated with the idea of having a treehouse or a cabin; a remotely-located home without all the distractions of daily life. I fell we get too wrapped up (myself included) in the many facets of the modern world and forget to make a priority of our connection with the natural one. Outdoor adventure is largely missing from the lives of today's children (an concept I'm learning both in my coursework and also in this book). Anyway. There is so much we can learn and gain from being out of doors, removed from technology. Alright, rant over.
And in this same vain, some related internet stumblings:
Free Cabin Porn- I could seriously (and probably will) spend hours looking at these.
Living in the woods.
Co-founder of Teradyne and wilderness hero (as described by The Aspen Times), Nick DeWolf, always traveled with a camera (or several). His son-in-law is currently digitizing the thousands of photos taken over his lifetime into this Flickr stream. Incredible stuff.
The site of my current internship. If you haven't been, you should take a trip to Park City.
And finally, my dream job would be working as an instructor for this company.
